Hang Fire
ArmyMarines
A dangerous malfunction in a firearm where there is an unexpected delay between pulling the trigger (when the firing pin strikes the primer) and the actual ignition of the gunpowder and discharge of the bullet. Or in Mortars, when a round is dropped in the tube and fails to fire.
“My dude had a hang fire and pooped his pants.”
